Protect Connecticut's Public Services
Demand action on legislation that protects the services we provide, and the clients we serve from Ai.
Record a video telling legislators about the importance of your job and the services you and your co-workers provide to the community. As federal cuts threaten state and local budgets and critical services, the state must prioritize services and employees who provide them; over outsourcing to Ai. We need to fight back by sharing our stories and highlighting why critical benefit decisions shouldn’t be outsourced to computers.
You can use these prompts to guide you:
- Start the video with your name, agency, job title, and how long you’ve been working for the state.
- What brought you to public service and to your line of work; how does your work impact your community/state?
- Why do you do this work, what keeps you going?
Make Your Pitch:
- What would happen if the services you help provide lost funding or disappeared?
- Why CT needs to protect public service employees like you and why you’re demanding meaningful guardrails for Ai?
Finish With a Strong, Clear Closing Line:
- Connecticut works because we do. There can be no public services without people. Public work, public services, require people.
- Support SB-1484 and build a better Connecticut with us!
Video Tips:
- Record preferably on a mobile device with a front-facing camera.
- Hold device still or prop it against a wall, book, etc., or have someone hold it.
- Make sure your face is centered on the screen.
- Keep videos to 1 minute or less.
- Speak clearly yet forcefully – not too quickly.
